I just purchased a Dell Inspiron about a month ago. For some reason, while I'm working I will get really annoying audio hang-ups. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm streaming audio online or running it off of my hard drive. They last about 1 second, and can come in short succession. I've been switching over to the Resource Monitor RM to see what's going on when this happens.
I think that's what one needs to debug? Please let me know the best way to get this to someone. After I cleared the "Problem Reports," its clear that the reports I previously mentioned are associated with the glitch I'm experiencing. Here's the details of one of those reports. Andre Da Costa Volunteer Moderator. Which version of Windows 10 is currently installed? Since its a new laptop out of the box, have you installed all the latest updates for system?
Usually, installing updates can cause CPU spikes. Look for blank icons on the desktop and delete them - these have been known to cause CPU spikes. Is it an SSD? If it is, you might need to update the firmware. Also, check whats starting up with Windows. Create an entirely new account and delete the current one.

Windows version is currently "Version OS Build Problem persists even when Windows is not apparently updating hard to tell, but I just had a major update a few days ago, and it's still happening. No blank icons on the desktop. I figured that would happen automatically. I'll look into this. Turned off as many background apps as I could. Ditto startup. I'll try disabling the services if nothing else helps. Under the "Windows" part of the problem reports, I have entries, and their status is "Not reported.
